HR Business Partner

Location: Croydon, London

Hours: Part-time, 21 hours per week (flexible)

Salary: £60 – £65,000 FTE

Reporting to: CEO

This role is responsible for fully owning the HR function at intuitive. It covers the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to performance, engagement, development and offboarding, ensuring that the right processes, structure and support are in place and consistently delivered.

The role requires someone who can independently identify what needs to be done, prioritise effectively and follow through. It involves being a trusted, approachable point of contact for managers and employees, while also maintaining a clear commercial perspective. People decisions should deliver maximal performance, support engagement and retention, and align with the wider financial and strategic goals of the business.

The role proactively monitors engagement, performance and culture, identifying areas of risk or disengagement, and implementing practical, business-aligned solutions.

Main duties and responsibilities

HR Ownership and Operations

  • Take end-to-end responsibility for the HR function
  • Maintain accurate HR systems and employee records
  • Ensure policies, processes and documentation are up to date and compliant
  • Provide clear and reliable HR reporting both internally and externally for HMRC and finance audits

Payroll, Pensions and Benefits

  • Oversee and process monthly payroll, pensions and relevant payments
  • Manage and advise on salary reviews, promotions and bonus allocations
  • Administer and review employee benefits
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and reporting deadlines

Performance and Development

  • Coordinate quarterly check-ins and structured 1:1 processes
  • Support managers with performance management and development planning
  • Maintain clear performance frameworks (KPIs/scorecards)
  • Identify training needs and oversee development initiatives

Employee Relations

  • Act as the primary contact for employee relations matters
  • Support managers with performance concerns, absence management and formal processes where required
  • Monitor attendance trends and address issues early
  • Ensure fair, consistent and legally compliant decision-making

Engagement and culture

  • Monitor employee engagement and identify areas for improvement
  • Run employee surveys and implement follow-up actions
  • Plan and deliver company social initiatives
  • Promote a positive, accountable and high-performing culture

Recruitment

  • Manage recruitment processes as required
  • Support workforce planning and headcount forecasting
  • Ensure effective onboarding and integration of new hires

Leadership

  • Partner with leadership on people strategy and planning
  • Contribute to budget discussions relating to pay, benefits and headcount
  • Balance employee support with business performance and financial sustainability
  • Lead and deliver HR projects that improve efficiency and effectiveness

Key skills, experience and capabilities

Essential

  • Degree level education or equivalent level professional experience
  • Previous experience in a similar HR role – full remit to include recruitment, reward, benefits, ER, engagement and compliance
  • Good understanding of HR legislation and best practice
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan ahead
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to prioritise workload with conflicting requests
  • Positive, creative and can-do attitude

Desirable

  • Previous experience working with HiBob or similar HRIS
  • Experience working in the technology industry
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
